LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Louisville's yet to be built convention center lands another event.

The Kentucky International Convention Center has landed the TEAMS '18 convention, a national sports travel industry expo that was last in Louisville in 2007.

TEAMS President and CEO Tim Schneider says they picked Louisville based on the conceptual drawing of the convention center since it is currently demolished and in the process of being rebuilt. The Louisville Convention and Visitors Bureau says the event will draw 1,200 people to town with an economic impact of $1.4 million.

The expo is scheduled for October 1 through 4 of 2018 and will be headquartered at the new Omni Hotel.
