Looking for a relaxing way to spend a summer weekend that is a change from the pool, the ball fields and the yard work? As the only family friendly blues event offered in eastern Jefferson County, the focus clearly falls into two areas—the stage where live blues musicians bare their souls, and the multiple barbecue stands where the "sultans of the smokers" showcase their talents.
Whether you're into hard-driving blues or more mellow crooning blues, you're guaranteed to hear more than your share of favorites as our live bands lay it down. The music makes the perfect backdrop for sampling ribs, pulled pork sandwiches and sliced beef dinners presented in a variety of styles—St. Louis, Texas, Southern, Northern—all boasting a "secret ingredient" that none of the cooks are willing to share, but all are guaranteeing makes their barbecue the best. We'll have plenty of napkins, so don't worry about being proper. Eat with your hands and wipe your mouth later. It's barbecue, and we're all family here.
