Florida Woman Left Out of Will Accused of Killing Mother

Florida woman beats mother to death after being left out of her will police say

A woman in Florida is accused of beating her 85-year-old mother to death after she learned she was being left of out her will.

Police say Gabriela Perero, 53, told investigators that she became angry after learning her siblings would be receiving an inheritance from her mother, Luisa Perero, and that she would not be, despite the fact she had been caring for her mother, the Sun Sentinel reports

According to a police report, Perero told her mother that "You destroyed my life, so I'm going to destroy you." That's when she allegedly threw her 85-year-old mother to the floor, grabbed her by her arms, ripping the skin off. Perero also told officers that she also grabbed her mother's neck and squeezed.

Perero then cleaned her mother up and called 9-1-1. Detectives say Perero told police that "I guess I'm going to jail... I beat up my mom" and "I pushed her down, grabbed her, and tore the skin of her arm."

Her mother was declared dead at the Broward Health Medical Center, but regained a pulse while at the hospital. The arrest report noted that Luisa Perero suffered a brain bleed, lacerations on her arms, and was in a come and on life support while at the hospital. Luisa died the next day.

No attorney is listed for Gabriela Perero according to jail records.
