The Transportation Security Administration made an odd discovery while checking a passenger's luggage at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

In a pun-filled Instagram post, the TSA said that agents uncovered a handgun stuffed inside a raw chicken.

"We hate to beak it to you here, but stuffing a firearm in your holiday bird for travel is just a baste of time. This idea wasn't even half-baked; it was raw, greasy, and obviously unsupervised," the agency wrote. "The only roast happening here is this poor packing choice!"

TSA spokesperson R. Carter Langston told the Washington Post that the firearm was discovered on September 27 at the checked baggage scanning facility in Terminal 4. He said the bags belonged to an unidentified passenger who was traveling internationally and that Customs and Border Protection was handling the investigation.

Passengers are allowed to fly with fresh meat in their checked or carry-on bags as long as it is stored on ice. Firearms and ammunition can be taken on flights, but they must be stored in a locked, hard-sided case and declared at the ticket counter. The TSA advises all passengers traveling with a gun to check the laws at their destination to ensure they are in compliance.
