Elizabeth Warren Releases DNA Test Showing She's Native American

Senator Elizabeth Warren accepted President Donald Trump's challenge and took a DNA test to prove that she has Native American ancestors. On Monday (10/15), the Massachusetts senator released the results of the test to the Boston Globe and revealed that she has Native American roots which date back between six and ten generations.

The DNA test was performed by Stanford University professor Carlos Bustamante, who is a genetics expert, and determined that Warren's DNA is 95% European but the test did find DNA segments that show she is part Native American.

The test could not pinpoint who in Warren's family tree was Native American. According to Fox News, if her great-great-great grandmother was Native American that would make her 1/32 Native American, but if her relatives were from ten generations ago, it would mean that she is only 1/512 Native America.

Over the summer, President Trump challenged Warren to take a DNA test and promised to donate one million dollars to her favorite charity if the results proved she was part Native American.

Warren reminded Trump of his promise in a tweet and asked him to make the donation to the National Indigenous Women’s Resource Center.
