'Baby Trump' Balloon Slashed Outside Of Alabama Football Game

While President Donald Trump received an overwhelmingly positive reception from fans at the Alabama-LSU game on Saturday (November 9), a number of students protested his visit. The students "adopted" a 20-foot "Baby Trump" balloon, which they flew above their rally outside of Bryant–Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa.

When 32-year-old Hoyt Deau Hutchinson heard that the giant balloon was going to make an appearance, he vowed to destroy it in a Facebook Live video.

Hutchison showed up to the protest and slashed an eight-foot long gash into the balloon. He ran off before the police arrived but was later taken into custody and charged with criminal mischief for destroying the balloon, which is worth $5,000.

After Hutchison was released from police custody, he bragged about his act in a since-deleted Facebook video.

"Some liberals tried to come to my hometown and start some trouble. That ain’t happening,” Hutchinson said. “I did get arrested. I got charged. That’s all right. I’d do it again given the opportunity.”
