CNN recently aired a segment where young Pennsylvania voters were asked how they felt about President Joe Biden and the consensus amongst them lacked any confidence or enthusiasm for the president.
Amongst young voters ages 18-29, former President Donald Trump holds a 48% to 40% lead over Biden according to the New York Times/Siena College poll. On CNN’s “News Central” the Pennsylvania voters expressed a lack of enthusiasm echoed by the young demographic.

“I feel like a lot of people are discouraged, but I think that‘s where influencers come in and we can really help motivate them, encourage them to vote,” said a social media influencer and Biden supporter.
On CNN’s segment, young Pennsylvania voters were asked to rate their enthusiasm to vote in November on a scale of one to ten.
Two voters said “five” another said “seven or eight” and 18-year-old Saranya Singh said “one. I’m not excited at all.”
Singh added “A lot of my friends and a lot of people in our age group are really hesitant to vote this year at all because I mean, Biden is not the ideal democratic candidate in any way.”
“The Biden campaign should definitely be seeing that as, like, if the youth vote slips away, like Pennsylvania slips away,” said a Biden supporter and college sophomore Anish Garimidi.
In 2020, CNN’s exit polls showed Biden winning by 11 points against Trump in the 25 to 29 age group, but without the support of young voters Biden’s path to victory becomes incredibly difficult.
